Mississippi Valley State University AIT Center of Excellence

The scope of the Center of Excellence for Automated Identification Technology (AIT) at Mississippi Valley State University is to help in the identification and development of AIT software standards and related processes that are needed in the industry. Integral to the success of the programs is providing education and training services specifically focused on AIT. The program will offer a focused college curriculum geared to train students in the proven methodology and technical solution of applying ACD/AIT in materials movement and inventory management.

A primary function of the MVSU Center of Excellence for AIT is to expose and train students in AIT standards, processes, committees, technologies and the integration of ACD/AIT equipment to address real-world business problems. The project provides a coordinated job-training program for students who will participate in a specialization area within a current college accredited degree program for the application AIT. The AIT Center of Excellence in conjunction with MVSU, will promote opportunities to companies needing capabilities for tracking and managing products and items.

An initial goal of the Center of Excellence is to incorporate AIT technology into the MVSU campus to be used as a real-world laboratory.
